City of Moncton Expands HotSpot Parking Services Posted on December 10, 2025 in News The City of Moncton is expanding its paid parking system through HotSpot – an online parking solution that will help modernize public parking and improve user experience. While HotSpot parking services are already in place across various city-owned lots, the expansion will take a phased approach to ensure a smooth transition for parking users. The first phase will see the removal of parking gates at the Moncton Place parking lot (next to City Hall at 655 Main Street) and the Alma Street parking garage. Subsequently, all on-street parking meters will be removed as part of the next phase of this roll-out, expected in 2026. “This expansion of HotSpot is about making parking more convenient and flexible for our residents and visitors”, says Conrad Landry, Director of Community Safety. “Through HotSpot, users can manage their parking much easier by monitoring how much time they have left in their parking spot directly on their phone and adding time when needed.” Beginning next week, visitors and monthly pass holders at the Moncton Place parking lot and the parking garage will notice a smoother parking experience as the gates are removed: Visitors will park and pay using HotSpot, either by scanning the QR code or entering the zone number on the nearest sign at their parking location directly in the app or online. They will be prompted to add their license plate, add the length of time to their stay, and follow steps to pay.Monthly pass holders will have already provided their license plate to the City’s By-Law Department to register their permit within the system, meaning they enter the lot and park – no scanning needed. Communications around subsequent phases of this roll-out will be issued through the City’s social media channels and email news subscription.
