Boil water order lifted Posted on December 11, 2025 in PSA The boil water order issued on Dec. 8 due to a watermain break has now been lifted for all areas, with the exception of Cedar Street north of Kendra Street. See map below for details. The water is now safe to consume in the areas where the order has been lifted.Steps to takeIf you have been home over the past few days and have been using your tap water for activities like washing dishes and laundry, no further action is necessary as these activities would have brought fresh water into your plumbing system. If you have been away or not using the tap water, run your water for 15 minutes to flush your plumbing. This can be done by turning on each of the taps in your home. This will remove any water that has been sitting in your pipes and will draw fresh water into your home.Cedar StreetA boil order remains in place for part of Cedar Street as it was used to flush the system after the repair to the main transmission line was completed. This area is isolated from the rest of the drinking water system. Two consecutive days of sampling with normal operating parameters are required before a boil water order is rescinded.A second set of samples has been taken on Cedar Street and results will be available on Friday, Dec. 12.The City of Moncton wishes to thank residents for their patience and cooperation as our crews worked to repair the watermain break and ensure the water was safe for consumption.
